Benjamin Coy on leave of absence from Cedar Rapids Symphony Orchestra / Orchestra Iowa while pursuing his doctorate at The Ohio State University. Active in theater orchestras, he has toured nationally with the Tony Award-winning musical Hairspray and performed with many critically acclaimed regional musical and opera productions. Ben is the author of two Kagarice Brass Editions publications designed to help trombone ensembles and sections improve their cohesion. He holds a master of music from Northwestern University and has studied with many notable musicians including Chicago Symphony trombonists Jay Friedman and Michael Mulcahy.
