It’s doubtful Carl Maria von Weber actually wrote the Romanza Appassionata. To me it feels like a bassoon or clarinet piece, which would be characteristic, but neither I nor any musicologist I know of has found any evidence. But, since we don’t know who did write it, I’ll keep using his name, if only as a convenient way of identifying the work.
